A professionally drafted Will is one of the most important documents you will ever create.
Without a valid Will, your estate will be distributed according to the Rules of Intestacy — which may not reflect your wishes. A Will ensures your assets pass to the people you choose, and allows you to appoint guardians for any minor children.
Your Will can cover the distribution of your assets, appointment of executors, guardianship of children, specific gifts and legacies, funeral wishes, and trusts for vulnerable beneficiaries or minor children.
Holly will take time to understand your circumstances and wishes, explain the options available to you, draft your Will clearly and accurately, and guide you through the signing formalities to ensure it is legally valid.
If you are married or in a long-term partnership, Mirror Wills can be a cost-effective way for both of you to put in place complementary Wills that reflect your shared wishes.
It is important to review your Will regularly — particularly following major life events such as marriage, divorce, the birth of children or grandchildren, or significant changes to your assets.

Trusts are a powerful legal tool for protecting your assets and providing for your loved ones.
A trust is a legal arrangement where assets are held by one party (the trustee) for the benefit of another (the beneficiary). Trusts can be created during your lifetime or on death through your Will.
Trusts can protect assets from care home fees, provide for children or grandchildren in a controlled way, offer inheritance tax planning benefits, protect vulnerable beneficiaries, and preserve assets for future generations.
Holly can advise on a range of trusts including Discretionary Trusts, Life Interest Trusts, Bare Trusts, Protective Property Trusts, and more — tailored to your individual circumstances and objectives.
Once established, trusts require ongoing administration. Holly can advise trustees on their duties, responsibilities and the ongoing management of trust assets.
Properly structured trusts can be an effective part of your inheritance tax and estate planning strategy. Holly will explain the tax implications clearly and help you make informed decisions.

Dealing with the estate of a loved one can be overwhelming. Holly provides compassionate, expert guidance through every step.
Estate administration (also known as Probate) is the legal process of dealing with a deceased person's estate — collecting their assets, paying any debts and taxes, and distributing what remains to the beneficiaries.
Whether Probate is required depends on the nature and value of the assets in the estate. Holly will assess the estate and advise on the most appropriate course of action.
The process typically involves valuing the estate, completing the relevant HMRC forms, applying for a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration, collecting assets, settling liabilities, and distributing the estate to beneficiaries.
If your loved one did not leave a valid Will, their estate will be distributed according to the Rules of Intestacy. Holly will guide you through this process and ensure the estate is administered correctly.
Holly understands that dealing with a bereavement is an incredibly difficult time. She provides a caring, empathetic service that takes the burden off you and ensures everything is handled correctly and efficiently.

An LPA allows you to appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you are unable to do so.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that allows you (the donor) to appoint one or more people (attorneys) to make decisions on your behalf. There are two types: Property & Financial Affairs, and Health & Welfare.
This type of LPA allows your attorney to manage your bank accounts, pay bills, collect income and benefits, and deal with property — either while you have mental capacity or only if you lose it.
This LPA allows your attorney to make decisions about your day-to-day care, medical treatment, where you live, and even life-sustaining treatment — but only when you lack mental capacity to make those decisions yourself.
You can only make an LPA while you have mental capacity. If you lose capacity without one in place, your family may have to go through the expensive and time-consuming Court of Protection process. Acting early protects your family.
Holly will explain both types of LPA in detail, help you choose the right attorneys, draft the documents, and guide you through the registration process with the Office of the Public Guardian.

Proactive estate planning ensures your wealth is protected and passed on in the most effective way possible.
Estate planning is the process of arranging your affairs during your lifetime to protect your assets and ensure they pass to your chosen beneficiaries in the most tax-efficient and straightforward way.
The current inheritance tax threshold is £325,000. Estates above this threshold may be subject to 40% tax. Holly can advise on legitimate strategies to minimise your inheritance tax liability and maximise what you leave behind.
Your home is likely your most valuable asset. Holly can advise on strategies to protect your property — including the use of Protective Property Trusts — ensuring it benefits your loved ones rather than being absorbed by care costs.
Effective estate planning involves looking at the whole picture — your Wills, Trusts, LPAs, life insurance, pensions and other assets — to create a joined-up strategy that reflects your wishes and protects your family.
Estate planning is not a one-off exercise. Holly recommends regular reviews to ensure your plans remain up to date with changes in your personal circumstances, family situation and the law.
